Did anyone else notice that the banners for Chatoyant College have cat eyes? I wonder when that will be explained. Does anyone have any ideas?

Specifically as regarding reflectivity in gemstones, taken from the french "oeil de chat" or "catseye". I assumed the title was a modification of this.

There is an actual English word chatoyant, which, according to my word-a-day email, means "Having a changeable luster like that of a cat's eye at night." I found the word scrolling through my saved word-a-day emails looking for one that I might use for the name of the college, and the ads followed naturally from there.

I went to www.thefreedictionary.com and looked up Chatoyant (they have a vocal pronunciation as well as a pronunciation guide). sheh-toy-ent. Not exactly how I was saying it in my head :P

I don't understand how they have money to pay us either. The company has other websites, so maybe that's where it comes from?

When people send in acronyms for that section of the site, I check to make sure they're valid, annotate and categorize them, and press a button that adds them to the site.
